The Expansion of God’s Kingdom

Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, he answered them, “The kingdom of God is not coming in ways that can be observed, nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or ‘There!’ for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.” (Luke 17:20-21 ESV)

God’s kingdom is not just a place. It is a family of believers who worship the Lord and carry out his will. Our Father has sent out an invitation to everyone through the message of the gospel, and he welcomes anyone who accepts it. His kingdom is infinite because he exists out of time, and there is no maximum occupancy when he prepares a special place for every saint.

God’s kingdom is in the midst of us because he has taken residence inside our hearts, which is probably why Jesus said that the kingdom is coming in ways that cannot be observed. There is a supernatural process where the Spirit leads, nudges, and inspires a person to live by faith.

The fact that God is living inside of us is such an exciting mystery! At first, we don’t feel different, but something is changing because our desire to know him increases with intensity. Before we know it, our hearts catch on fire with love and adoration for him when we realize what eternal life actually means.

Do you understand that God lives inside of you and that he is much closer than you think? Do you realize that you have full access to the Almighty Creator of everything, whose sovereignty and power are the unmatched standard of the Divine? Yes, we are vessels filled with his Spirit and he overflows from us to reach other people. And that is how his kingdom continues to expand. The growth of the church is evidence of his work, and we get to be his witnesses and participate in kingdom work. Now, how amazing is that?
