Surrender to the Father’s grip

You shall seek those who contend with you, but you shall not find them; those who war against you shall be as nothing at all. For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” (Isaiah‬ ‭41:12-13‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

When God holds our hand, he warms it with comfort and protects us from the ruthless attempts to break our faith in him. Even when we want to let go, he holds on more tightly leading us through the chaos to a place where we find peace. We would have never arrived at this destination alone because our feet tend to wander with curiosity only to get lost in the dark, miry woods of lies and temptations. A friendly, warm campfire may at first seem inviting, but the closer we get to it, the more hungry it becomes by seeking to burn anything to keep hot and alive.

That’s what the devil does to us. When life seems cold, he offers a little warmth and a sense of satisfaction in exchange for our heavenly citizenship. But thank God that we, who belong to Jesus, can never be taken from him. For he says, “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me,is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one” (John‬ ‭10:28-30‬).

So when your hand is joined with God’s, do not resist the grip of his grace and love for you. Surrender your hand to him so he can tell you how much you mean to him. Let him show you where your life is meant to go and how his promises to you will be fulfilled.
