Let the rivers clap their hands; let the hills sing for joy together before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with equity. (Psalm 98:8-9 ESV)
A long awaited celebration is in the making with the return of Jesus because he will adjudicate every single issue that unsettled this world. He will relieve us from the curse of our fallen state and bring forth justice wherever the devil’s work was in play. Grief and sorrow will be erased for the children who have been faithful to him, those who patiently endured the evil days in anticipation of Jesus’ second coming.
The light of God’s glory will make all darkness flee from his presence, and everyone who believes in him will be overwhelmed with joy and excitement. Our heaviest burden will wither away and be remembered only as a “light momentary affliction”
when we reach the doorstep of heaven (2 Corinthians 4:17). Knowing that our days on earth are temporary is comforting because I know that this is not my permanent home. For now, I will try to make the best use of my time, to show God’s love, and work to soften or prevent the damage caused by Satan’s hand.
