By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. (Hebrews 11:3 ESV)

God is magnificently powerful. What we see in this universe is his design where everything created was brought forth by his thoughts and words. The most brilliant authors of this world use language and combinations of words to stimulate our imaginations so that we are introduced to people, worlds, and ideas. Yet, what they write is contained on paper and computer screens. Their words might even travel as far as a signal transmission into a radio, television, or internet stream. Yet, their words cannot create a new being and bring it to life; nor can they form mountains, deserts, or oceans. They cannot calm storms, cast out demons, or make all creation tremble with reverence.

I don’t think we fully understand how big and powerful God is. Only he has the ability to make something out of nothing. When he speaks, galaxies are formed, lives are made, and hearts are changed.
