The Grace of God’s Presence

The Lord be with your spirit. Grace be with you. (2 Timothy 4:22 ESV)

When you think about Jesus, what impressions run through your mind?

Was he just a man, or is he the Son of God?

Was he a myth, or is he the Messiah?

Was he a huckster, or is he a miracle worker?

Think about it. God the Creator and Author of life who is all-powerful is always with you. No matter how often you forget that, he still remains in place. If you wander into trouble, he sticks by your side helping you persevere. If you decide to go astray, he patiently waits for you to speak to him again.

How do I know this? Well, in another letter, Paul reminds believers of our Lord’s grace when he wrote these words:

“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
‭‭(Romans‬ ‭8:38-39‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

Jesus refuses to be distant from you. If you feel that he’s far away, consider whether your heart and mind were the moving party.
